I take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy provides information on when and why I collect your personal information, how I use it, the limited conditions under which I may disclose it to others and how I keep it secure.
The types of data I collect:
When a client contacts me to provide an assessment, I collect a range of information to enable me to fulfil that service provision. This includes:
Note: in accordance with SASC guidance, diagnostic assessment reports must be kept for 7 years for adults and for children until they turn 25; however, the test materials will be destroyed once the client has confirmed they are happy with the report content.
Assessment filming:
The assessment is filmed on an iPad firstly for safeguarding purposes (parents of under 16s/you can request to see the footage until the diagnostic report is sent - it will then be deleted) and secondly to ensure no details or observations are missed on the testing day.
How I store your data:
Your data is stored on a password-protected computer/iPad with anti-virus software as required. Test materials and results are stored in a locked cabinet.
Why I collect this data:
The information above enables me to plan and provide the assessment the client has requested.
Who might I share this information with:
If I have your consent, I will share your report with your college and/or university. To maintain my Assessment Practising Certificate, every three years, I must submit a recent diagnostic report for review. Any information on the report will be anonymised so the subject cannot be identified.
Access to your personal data:
In accordance with GDPR, you have the right to access, amend and delete any of your personal data that I hold. This can be done by contacting me at edinburghdyslexia@gmail.com. Note: requests from clients to delete data will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and I may be unable to remove all assessment records for legal reasons.
